“Vrittu baby wake up now it’s 9 AM.“ I heard mumma’s voice. But didn’t wake up. How can I? She didn’t wake me up like she usually does. I am habitual to it. Now you must be thinking what I am talking about so let me tell you. I am habitual of waking up with mumma cuddling me and showering me with kisses. I know it sounds childish but I can’t help it. I am used to being treated like a baby.
After sometime I heard some footsteps and I know who it is, mumma. She came and laid beside me and hugged me. I snuggled more into her.
After few minutes she said “Beta wake up now it’s getting late.” And gave me kisses all over my face making me giggle.
I opened my eyes “Good Morning Mumma” I said.
“Good Morning Baby” she replied with a smile.
“Now get up and take shower. Till then I’ll make the breakfast.” Mumma said and I hummed. I went to get ready and mumma made my bed and went downstairs.
After getting ready I quickly went downstairs and saw Papa and Dadu sitting in the living room. I went towards them.
“Good Morning Dadu” I said and hugged Dadu.
“Good Morning Princess” Dadu said and hugged me back.
“Good Morning Papa” I said and hugged Papa.
“Good Morning Bachha” Papa said and kissed my forehead.
Then I went to the kitchen and saw Mumma making breakfast. I hugged her from behind. She smiled and cupped my right cheek.
“What’s for breakfast, Mumma?” I asked
“Aloo ke parathe, dahi, chai.” Mumma replied.
“Wait, I’ll cut some fruits too.” I said and went to grab a knife.
But before I could even touch the knife, mumma grabbed my hand and said “If you want to eat fruits then I will cut them, not you.”
“But Mumma you have a lot of work to do already.” I said.
But she shook her head and said “No, what if you cut your fingers. I can’t take risk and if your dadu and papa saw you working in the kitchen, they’ll get angry. So go and sit with your papa and dadu. I’ll do all this.”
Mumma pushed me out of the kitchen. I sighed and went to sit with dadu and papa.
I know mumma was right. Papa and dadu are too much possessive for me. If it was in their hands they would have created a shell around me so that I will be protected from any harm. And same goes for my brother Abeer. Though he is younger than me but he behaves as if I am the younger one and it’s his responsibility to protect me. But that’s a different story that he always ends up with a new problem and I always end up protecting him. But that doesn’t stop him from behaving like a responsible and protective brother.
We three were talking when Abeer entered the living room.
“Good Morning everyone.” He said and took a seat beside me.
“Good Morning.” we replied.
“Abeer you again skipped your classes.” Papa said.
Abeer looked at me with pleading eyes.
“Papa actually last night I took him with me. I had some work and by the time we came back it was too late so I told him to skip classes if there were no important lectures.” I said and Papa hummed.
Abeer whispered “Thank You”.
After sometime we had our breakfast and Papa went to his office, Abeer went to his room to have some more sleep and Dadu went to meet his friends. And for me I went to mumma as I don’t have anything to do today because I have to join office from Monday and it’s Saturday today. So today I am a free bird .
After doing some gossip with mumma I went for shopping with my best friend Dhani. Ohh I didn’t tell you about my friends. So I have four friends. We are childhood best friends. Varun, he is a software engineer and is working in a multinational company. Vedanth, he is handling his family business. Tanay, he is a CFA and Dhani, she is a fashion designer.
I know you must be thinking that I have three male friends but just one female friend. So the thing is, they are sons of Papa’s best friends and we met when I was 2 or 2 and half years old. They take care of me just like my family. And the most important thing, they are the reason why I am still single. I don’t have any love story to tell my future kids because they literally shoo away every boy who try to approach me. Sad right? But I can’t do anything. They are so over protective.
Then comes my Dhani, I met her in KG II. She is an introvert so as they say I saw her, liked her and adopted her. She is a complete sweetheart. I love her a lot.
